Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come?

I never went to the dentist as a kid. I was indifferent about the dentist, although I had heard horror stories as a kid. I just never went because my family always had other holistic measures to treat dental issues. I finally went to the dentist as a young adult and the experience was great.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

The clinical part, getting to make a patient smile, become confident in their smile or take them out of pain is the most rewarding. Also, just being a listen ear to patients.

What famous person (alive or dead) is your dream dental patient? Why?

Issa Rae, her personality and creativity.

What’s your dream toothpaste flavor?

Eucalyptus mint

What’s something your patients might be surprised to learn about you?

Most people seem surprised that I’m in the US army.

How do you recharge after a long week? What’s your go-to activity for hitting the restart button?

I love hiking and cooking and pretending to be a TikTok content creator.

What dental stereotype are you most passionate about changing?

“Are you old/strong enough to pull a tooth?”

In another life, if you weren’t working in dentistry, what would you be doing?

An artist/creative/innovator

When I’m in the patient chair, I’m probably grooving to {blank} in my headphones.

Nothing. I like being able to engage in the environment.

What’s something that really, really, really makes you smile? Like, really?

Nicely aligned natural looking white teeth. :)
