Most people either loved going to the dentist as a kid—or absolutely hated it. Where did you fall? How come?

I enjoyed going to the dentist — I looked forward to getting my teeth cleaned and watching Disney movies!

What (or who) inspired you to get into dentistry? How so?

My family dentist encouraged me to pursue a career in dentistry.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Providing comprehensive treatment for patients, from the initial exam all the way through treatment and beyond, is the most rewarding. Taking patients from the start of their dental journey to a clean and healthy smile keeps me motivated.

What famous person (alive or dead) is your dream dental patient? Why?

George Washington. He needs a new smile made of ceramics, not wooden teeth!

What’s something your patients might be surprised to learn about you?

I was homeschooled from kindergarten through high school.

How do you recharge after a long week? What’s your go-to activity for hitting the restart button?

Playing with my dogs, Jax and Sophie!

What dental stereotype are you most passionate about changing?

The stuffy old dentist with a generally boring personality.

What is the absolute coolest thing about the human mouth?

How tough enamel is and how it can stand up to all the tough foods people eat!

In another life, if you weren’t working in dentistry, what would you be doing?

I can't imagine myself doing anything aside from dentistry, except maybe teaching dentistry.

When I’m in the patient chair, I’m probably grooving to {blank} in my headphones.

Blink 182

What’s something that really, really, really makes you smile? Like, really?
