Dr. Tung Nguyen combines technical precision with a calm, patient-centered approach that helps patients feel confident in their care. He earned his DDS from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, followed by advanced training at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where he refined his skills in comprehensive and restorative care. Our brand new Long Island City Studio is situated on a bustling corner at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and 50th Avenue. It’s located just steps away from the 7 train and a few blocks from the G at 21st Street. Street parking is also available. Really positive experience. Beautiful aesthetically. Every detail was thought through. Got an appointment next day. Zero wait time. The staff and drs were thorough and very kind and put me at ease even though I was very nervous! They were transparent about billing, my insurance covered the visit, no weird bills later on. I wish all doctors offices were like this.
This was my first time at Tend, and I loved it! The entire process to book an appointment was super easy and seamless. They took my insurance and the entire visit was covered. The office was very clean, modern and nice! Said they’ve only been open in that location about 6 months. My dental hygienist Emily was very sweet and walked me through everything she was doing. I was very comfortable and even watched tv during my cleaning. I also suffer from TMJ and they offer botox to help with pain if needed! I am actually looking forward to my follow up
I am never leaving Tend. They make you feel comfortable, heard, and I’ve never had such a great experience at a dental office. I had 2 cavities filled and didn’t feel even feel a pinch when given the novocaine. 5 stars to the entire staff 😁

I’ve been seeing Dr. Tara for several months now, and I can’t recommend her enough! She has been incredibly helpful, kind, and always takes the time to thoroughly explain what needs to be done. It’s reassuring knowing that she is so knowledgeable about my dental care, and I always leave my appointments feeling confident and well-informed. Her advice and recommendations have been spot-on, and I truly appreciate her approach to patient care.
I’ve been going to Tend for about a year now, they’re absolutely wonderful. There’s never any wait, they take you right at your appointment time. My hygienist was Christine and she was amazing. She educated me on some things, was very friendly, very gentle with the cleaning because I have very sensitive teeth. They never push anything on you and they’re very thorough with their cleanings. It’s also a very clean environment which you definitely want! I’d highly recommend!
I have never had a more pleasant and efficient visit to the Dentist. All of the staff, from the front desk team to the hygienists, are so warm and helpful. Lastly, Dr. Zahra Showkatian is the kindest and most considerate Dentist I have ever had. I feel so fortunate to receive care at Tend Capitol Hill.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Dan Kim! He was incredibly personable and took the time to thoroughly explain my dental issue in detail. I’ve been dealing with a recurring problem that two other dentists couldn’t resolve. Even one of whom nearly cost me a significant amount of money. Thankfully, Dr. Kim was able to get me on the right track, saving me from unnecessary stress and expense. I’ve also struggled with teeth grinding for as long as I can remember. Other professionals brushed it off as stress with no real solutions, but Dr. Kim provided actionable steps to address it, and I’m so grateful. His patience, kindness, and genuine care made me feel confident enough to trust him completely. I’ll definitely be returning to Dr. Kim and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and trustworthy dentist!
Just finished having major work done. Incredible job by Dr Kim and the Tend-Ballston staff. They addressed dental problems I had ignored for a decade. I had 3 crowns installed on the left and a major bridge on the right. No pain, a great outcome, and all done in 2 visits. I highly recommend Tend and Dr Kim. It’s how dentistry should be in the 21st century.
The hygienist was very good - thorough and attentive. Dr. Shane was also excellent - I left with a good treatment plan and clear path forward.
My visit to Golden Triangle was just as amazing and comfortable as my experiences at other Tend locations. Dr. Sukys and his assistant, Ariel, along with Kourtni at the welcome desk, made my root canal surgery completely painless and stress-free from start to finish. I’ve visited several Tend dental offices in both NYC and Boston, but the Kendall Square location is hands down one of my favorites. I always get a bit anxious about dental visits, but the moment I walked in, the team made me feel so welcome! Kimberly Nguyen, the hygienist who took care of me, was incredibly thorough in explaining what needed to be done, yet still so kind and patient. She really helped ease my nerves. Highly recommend this location. 10/10!

We recommend coming in for a cleaning and checkup every six months, which is the standard for most patients. These regular visits help us catch small issues—like early signs of decay or gum disease—before they become more serious or expensive to treat.
However, some patients may need to come in more frequently, especially if they have a history of gum disease, wear orthodontic appliances like aligners, or are more prone to plaque buildup. Your first visit is designed to be both thorough and welcoming. Here’s what it includes:
- A complete dental exam to assess your teeth, gums, bite, and overall oral health
- Digital x-rays for a detailed look below the surface (with significantly lower radiation than traditional x-rays)
- A gentle, professional cleaning tailored to your needs
- A one-on-one conversation with your dentist, who will walk you through any findings, answer your questions, and create a treatment plan if needed
We’ll also review your dental history, talk about your goals (whether it’s improving your oral health or brightening your smile), and give you time to ask questions—without feeling rushed.
The environment is designed to feel calm and spa-like, so you can relax and actually enjoy taking care of your smile.
Call us at 212-257-3455. Just make sure to do so more than 48 hours before your appointment time. If you cancel or reschedule less than 48 hours in advance, we’ll have to charge you a $50 fee. If you don’t make it at all, we’ll have to charge you a $100 fee. This is because we reserved that time specifically for you, and our appointments are in high demand.
